SweatCor Review – Sparkling Ice

We at SweatCor are pretty vocal about our opinions on all soft drinks (in case you don’t know…never drink them…) but that doesn’t mean we don’t understand the struggle many of you face when trying to remove them from your life.

Well today, we are excited to share a review for a product which will be a great help to those of you in constant need of that soft drink “fix”! Check out our thoughts on Sparkling ICE drinks!

Ingredients List: (17 ingredients which is more than we recommend)
Carbonated Mountain Spring Water, Apple Juice Concentrate, Citric Acid, Natural Flavors, Cherry Juice Concentrate, Potassium Benzoate (To Ensure Freshness), Sucralose, Green Tea, Extract, Gum Arabic, Calcium Disodium EDTA (To Protect Flavor), Red #40, Ester Gum, Biotin 1% TRIT, (Maltodextrin, Niacinamide (B3), D-Calcium Pantothenate (B5), Vitamin B12 0.1% (Mannitol), Vitamin D3, Pryidoxine HCI (B6).

Ingredients you might not know:
Sucralose: Splenda (brand name)
Gum Arabic: This is an emulsifier and stabilizer from the branches of the acacia Senegal tree. You will find it in all soft drinks because it is what binds the sugar to the water. Without it, you would have all the sugar at the bottom of your drink.
Ester Gum: Also an emulsifier that keeps the liquids from separating.
Calcium Disodium: This is a perservative to help protect the quality and color of the drink

Health Benefits: The Sparkling ICE contains green tea extracts. Green tea is a good antioxidant.  No sodium and sugar: most soft drinks are high in sugar and sodium. Contains Vitamin B3,5,6,& 12, Vitamin D and Biotin. (for more health benefits on these products: http://inrfood.com/)

Some things to be aware of: Food dyes have been a question of debate for many years as to whether they cause side affects like ADHD in children and adults as well as other affects like cancer. If you are allergic to food dyes or try to avoid them then these drinks are not for you. The tea with lemonade flavor doesn’t have red or yellow food dyes in them. There is also debate about whether or not Sucralose is bad for you. No question, natural sweeteners are the best for you. I would be interested to see what would happen to the taste if they used stevia instead of sucralose.

Taste Test: Sparking ICE has many flavors that our family loves. We enjoy the cherry limeade, strawberry lemonade, tea with lemonade, black raspberry, peach nectarine, and orange mango. They have so many flavors that you will enjoy. The taste is great! The sparkling water and fruity flavors make for a great combination with no after taste.

Cost: $1.00 a bottle

Screen Shot 2014-08-04 at 8.36.09 AM We love these drinks and they have become a good “satisfier” when we need a carbonated drink. They are not be something you drink multiple times a day, but they are a great change. We feel certain you will really enjoy these drinks! Pure water is the best for you and nothing should take its place. Squeeze some lemon in your water and get some great antioxidants. However, when you need a little something else Sparkling ICE can satisfy that carbonated drink craving.

Check them out on their website as well as on Facebook and Twitter!

This week we would also like to share a great new recipe:
banana-peanut-butter-ice-cream5Banana Peanut Butter Ice Cream

3 frozen bananas…cut in chunks (take ripe bananas, peel them and place them in a freezer bag; then put in refrigerator over night)
1 T creamy peanut butter (or PB2)

Place frozen banana chunks in food processor. Blend until smooth. Add peanut butter and blend until the texture of ice cream. Enjoy!
You can experiment with adding other ingredients to the mixture…like dark chocolate, sugar free chocolate syrup, etc…
